Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) stocks on Wednesday plunged after Group Chairman Anil Ambani reportedly met Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal in the backdrop of ongoing 2G spectrum scam investigation.
Jaipur based audit firm Parakh & Co had examined the books of Reliance Communications (RCom) as part of a government-ordered investigation has approached the Telecom Ministry for the second time in six months complaining against the Anil Ambani promoted company.
In latest complaint, the audit firm has sought urgent intervention from the telecom department to restrain RCom from adopting coercive tactics against it, and also withdraw proceedings against the firm at various forums.
In response to these developments, ADAG has lodged a complaint with market regulator SEBI seeking action against “corporate rivals” hammering the stocks. The group said in a statement after the market close, “A series of completely baseless and motivated rumours have been spread today by our unscrupulous corporate rivals”.
“This (rumour mongering by rivals) has been accompanied by vicious and illegal bear hammering of our listed stocks to create panic and destabilise the markets”, it added.
RELIANCE COMMUNICATIONS: Shares of Reliance Communications settled at Rs 94.85, down Rs 15.85, or 14.32% at the BSE on Wednesday. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 6,009,880.
RELIANCE INFRASTRUCTURE: Shares of Reliance Infrastructure settled at Rs 534.70, down Rs 123.70, or 18.79% at the BSE on Wednesday. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 4,259,260.
RELIANCE CAPITAL: Shares of Reliance Capital settled at Rs 412.90, down Rs 67.5, or 14.5% at the BSE on Wednesday. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 2,122,906.
RELIANCE POWER: Shares of Reliance Power settled at Rs 113.15, down Rs 11.10, or 8.93% at the BSE on Wednesday. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 3,297,189.
RELIANCE BROADCAST NETWORKS: Shares of Reliance Broadcast Network settled at Rs 62.35, down Rs 6.80, or 9.83% at the BSE on Wednesday. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 43,109.
RELIANCE MEDIA WORKS: Shares of Reliance Media Works settled at Rs 129.90, down Rs 24.95, or 16.11% at the BSE on Wednesday. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 565,558.
