"CONTAINER CORPORATION : A GOOD PICK FOR SHORT TERM"

On Sunday, some picks for short-term i.e., till Railway Budget 2011 were written. One of them was Container Corporation of India i.e., CONCOR.
Container Corporation of India (Concor) has posted a net profit of Rs 2,284.83 million for the current quarter as compared to Rs 2006.20 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2009, growth of 13.89%.
Total income has increased 10.45% from Rs 9,226.06 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2009 to Rs 10,189.99 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2010.Company`s Board of Directors has declared an Interim Dividend of Rs. 7.50 (75%) per share of face value of Rs 10 each amounting to Rs 974.9 million.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till Jan. 17, 2011, falling 1.79% compared with the Sensex`s 4.95% decline. It underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 6.67% as against 6.18% fall in the Sensex.
Shares of the company gained Rs 12.55, or 1.02%, to settle at Rs 1,239.55. The total volume of shares traded was 363 at the BSE (Tuesday).
