"TRADING IDEA FOR THURSDAY (14.07.2011)"

FIIs were net buyers with the tune of ` 315.95 crore on Wednesday, the 13h July 2011(prov. fig.)
The BSE Sensex jumped 184.40 points or 1% to 18,596.02, its highest closing level since 11 July 2011. The Sensex gained 214.79 points at the day's high of 18,626.41 in late trade. The index rose 53.78 points at the day's low of 18,465.40 in early trade. The S&P CNX Nifty was up 59.30 points or 1.07% to 5,585.45, its highest closing level since 11 July 2011. The Nifty hit a high of 5,596.15 in intraday trade. The BSE Mid-Cap index rose 1.3% and outperformed the Sensex. The BSE Small-Cap index gained 0.97% and underperformed the Sensex.
The market breadth was strong. On BSE, 1,863 shares advanced and 1,024 shares declined and a total of 126 shares remained unchanged. Among the 30-member Sensex pack, 26 stocks gained while the rest of them declined.
FOR TODAY: IT giant TCS and two-wheeler major Bajaj Auto will declare Q1 results on Thursday, 14 July 2011. On the macro front, the Government will unveil data on headline inflation for June 2011 today, i.e., on 14 July 2011. 
It is expected that TCS may report a 4.9 percent increase in top line to INR 10,652.71 crores whereas its bottom line is expected to decline 13.0 percent sequentially to INR 2,282.87 crores.
According to a poll carried out by Capital Market, economists expect inflation at 9.7% for June 2011, much above the Reserve Bank of India's perceived comfort level of 5% to 6%.
Though EU as well as US markets were closed in GREEN, Asian markets are trading mixed. SGX Nifty is trading at 5573.50, down 34.50 (at 8.40 am) indicating that Nifty may open flat to negative.
