FIIs were net buyers with the tune of ` 220.59 crore (prov. cash market fig).The BSE 30-share Sensex was down 21.02 points or 0.11% to 19,591.18. The Sensex rose 52.89 points at the day's high of 19,665.09 in mid-afternoon trade. The index fell 75.18 points at the day's low of 19,537.02 in mid-morning trade. The S&P CNX Nifty was down 6.05 points or 0.1% to 5,885.70. The BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.98% at 7,264.29 and the BSE Small-Cap index gained 1.25% at 8,897.19. Both these indices outperformed the Sensex. The BSE Small-Cap index has jumped 1,121.83 points or 14.4% from a recent low of 7,775.36 on 21 March 2011.
The market breadth was strong. On BSE, 1926 shares advanced while 1025 shares declined and a total of 93 shares remained unchanged.
Among the 30-member Sensex pack, 17 declined and the rest advanced.

- Nifty Call options of strike 5900 added open interest by 16645 lots while Put options of strike 5800 had a build up of 119105 lots.
- Nifty Put Call ratio fell to 1.36 with the total open interest in Call options at 1,048,921 lots and that in Put options at 1,429,756 lots.
- Volatility Index fell by 0.20% from 20.36 to 20.32
FOR TODAY: EU as well as US markets closed in RED. However, all Asian markets are trading on positive bias today morning. SGX Nifty is trading at 5906.50, up 4.50.
Last three days, nifty is trading within a range between 5860 and 5944.... trying to break the channel either in down side or up side. Next week, the trend will be known as INFOSYS results on Friday, the 15th April, 2011.
TODAY WATCH FOR 5850-5860 ON THE DOWN SIDE AND 5950-5960 ON THE UPSIDE..... TRADE ACCORDINGLY WITH STOPLOSS BELOW 5850 AND/OR ABOVE 5960.
